Well this is a place I never thought I'd be (Sounds like an online dating profile I know) but I've got to the point where I have lost so much through gambling through the years that I can't stomach it anymore. I started with horse racing at 16, I started with ВЈ1 bets but before I knew it I was working fulltime and betting ВЈ200 on a horse at a time. Recently (5 years or so) I started to play online slots, anything upto £50 spins at a time. I wouldn't like to guess how many thousands I've lost in the last 17 years, not to mention everything else that falls by the wayside along the way. I'm on here now because I've had so many failed attempts at quitting in the past but after my last traumatic experience in the bookies I've been coming on here for the last week, and I've never felt so empowered to quit before as I do now.

Well done for coming on here and sharing. It's a great place for support. I'm an occasional gambler once a month maybe, but had a massive blowout last week and shocked myself by reversing all my withdrawals worth double what I deposited and blowing the lot. Something I've never done and it cist me a fortune. So I realise now I can't be trusted to play at all. This is day 2 for me, almost caved last night but put my phone down and went to bed instead!

Well done. Just one step at a time. I haven't had any desire to gamble for the last 5 days at all. Maybe that's my mind playing a trick on me, but I'm determined. I went on my inline banking before and seen money deposited into my account, I wasn't expecting it and the first thought that came into my head was shopping for xmas. Normally it's always been gambling that I instantly thought of. They say if you tell yourself a lie often enough you'll end up believing it yourself - I keep telling myself gambling is repulsive and I'm not a gambler. Good luck.
