Hello B2K

Welcome to the forum and well done for breaking the cycle of gambling, and for managing to remain gamble-free for those 12 days. I can imagine that it's been really tough given what you've been going through since your wife left. It sounds like you're doing all you can to make things right, so well done for that.

How have things been since you posted? There's lots of help for you here at GamCare and I'm sure you'll find a lot of support and advice from other forum users here too. I can hear that you'd like to know what's happened to others in similar situations to yourself.

If you haven't already done so I would suggest calling our helpline/netline for some advice. Pehaps there's practical steps you could take to make it even more difficult to gamble if the urge does arise. We can also advise on local face-to-face support.

I wish you all the best.

Hello B2K

Welcome to the forum.

I can't answer your question from experience.

All I'd say is that your chances of getting back with your wife can only be enhanced if you stop now.

Blocking software, GA, Self-exclusion, counselling, CBT, religion, the help is out there.

I think giving the GamCare helpline a call would set you on the right path.

A diary on here will help you with support and advice. It's successful for many. Click on 'Recovery diaries...' scroll all the way down and click on the 'new topic' rectangle and you'll be good to go.

From my short time here, reading round the forum - when people stop gambling their lives start improving.

It will take time.

Stick at it.

Glint
