Not so much of a newbie but bit the bullet and come back after a lovely hiatus from gambling. Not completely squeaky clean for the time I’ve been away but it was absolutely not a focus and my finances were massively improving so was my quality of life. Then I broke up with my fiancГ© and now I’m back to square one. Flat broke and used all of my savings and spare cash I had on random gambling websites. Self excluded from all new sites for the longest term. Blocked all pay by phone transactions and will install gambling software for my phone. I went over 100 days GF completely before and I’m ready to start this forever change again. Wish me luck it can’t get any worse that’s for sure! 🙁

1st day gamble free. It is so nice to be sat in the bath and use my phone for chill out music and the GamCare forum and not take away from my favourite way to chill out, by getting in and getting on the slots a bag of nerves. I logged on to a gambling site just now that I’m about to self exclude from but I was waiting to see if the gamstop had taken effect and it hadn’t? I will log in again in the morning to check as know it said could take 24 hours and I only signed up last night. I’m just hoping it works. If logging in in the morning still allows me access I will self exclude myself anyway and then double check with gamstop what sites it actually blocks and whether I signed up correctly. I had 15p in the account which I would’ve usually played bingo at 1p a card with in desperation but I literally felt creeped out just being on the site and wanted to get it off my browser ASAP. I’m still looking for a free iPhone gamblock if anyone could kindly point me in the right direction. Please. Xx

Sorry about you and your fiancГ©e, I'd of probably done the same thing if I were you. Now it's behind you though, you just have to keep going and be patient because it's just money and money can be earned again. I think the best way to stop is to keep yourself busy with other things like whatever your interest are like music ? + You shouldn't use your phone in the bath incase you drop it aha. Blocks are fine and everything but I personally don't see the point, there's too many sites out there and there's ways around it, I just think keeping yourself so busy you don't even think to gamble is the best, just focus on yourself and forget about money.

I'm not the best with advice but hopefully something I said helps, good luck

Thanks one punch, I am trying to keep busy I like yoga and all of that so what better way to keep busy than to get back into that and help heal this broken mind at the same time. 4 days gamble free today and the sun is shining. Feeling positive. Good luck on your gf journey also. Xx

Good 😀 I think once you're over the initial craving, it slowly gets easier with time. It does help when the weather's nice, phones away, time in the sun B-) I wish you all the best.

It's so hard when those urges start to come into your mind. Just keep trying to find new ways to block your access to gambling. I've found it's almost a case of trial and error and eventually you start to close all potential avenues.

Do you grebe anyone you trust who can help look after your finances for you?

New to all this. 5 days gamble free but i am having urges every day but i am getting through it. I have lost so much over the past 10 years and My relationship has fell apart with my partner and she is on the verge of ending it. How can I conceive her that I want to turn over a new leaf and get my s*** together?

Wb90 I think I’ve basically self excluded and blocked myself out from them all now. Even the really pathetic unknown ones don’t let me sign up anymore which is great! I’m feeling good today. When the thoughts enter I just think, why would I wanna waste hours watching virtual games take all my money when I can be doing actual things in the real world?! Day 3 gamble free and feeling content. X

Thats great to hear 🙂 I'm on day three and so far it hasn't been too hard. Bit of temptation today but the blocks are there so I don't even bother trying.
