Hi All,

Take any given Saturday men and women all over the UK go into their local betting shop put on a football coupon or select maybe 4 horses on a £1 yankee costing £11. They go home watch live racing or wait for the football results. Win or lose theyll wash the car cut the lawn do the shopping whatever win or lose theyve had their bit of entertainment and thats it till next Saturday. Nothing wrong with that.

The CG might do that until he realises he hasnt won and thats when the cancer cicks in. No shopping or car washing for him or her. The thought process tells us the bookies got my money and i want it back. And i want it now not next Saturday.

SOLUTION Back to the betting shop or online to deposit more to win back what youve already lost. Maybe £20 then £50 etc etc and so starts the vicious circle of chasing money that youre not gonna win back.

Or theres the other senario where your first bet wins and you show a nice profit. The once a week punter in this situation is thinking wow thats my car insurance or my holidays paid for. Whereas the CGs brains sending signals like im in luck, this is my day, im on a good run. The next bet wins and the cancer isnt telling him hes in luck, or its his day, its telling him YOURE INVINCIBLE. So if im invincible why have £10 each way on the next bet why not £25 or even £50. Hes on an adrenalin rush already £300 up so The £500 he lost yesterday and the day before dont matter that becomes irrelevant. Til the next bet loses then the next and suddenly it dawns on him hes £500 down again and maybe the win earlier wasnt a win more of an illusion.

SOLUTION Deposit more cos i want my money back and i want it now.

Could i as a CG ever place a £1 yankee watch them all on tv get turned over then think to myself umm the grass wants cutting think i might get the lawn mower out. DO ME A FAVOUR.

My names Al im a compulsive gambler who is 1 bet away from total disaster.

So true, clearly reminded me of my last loss before quitting. I had lost £850 on the Monday, chased it on the Wednesday and won £1350. Money back and extra, but no my mind told me to get to £2000. Walked out broke of course. No amount is ever enough.

Thats it Al,

We cannot win becasue we simply cannot stop. Other people bet as a form of entertainment, even if they win they spend their winnings, if not they walk away.

To Compulsive gamblers, winning is just tokens to gamble in the future. The buzz/escape our mind seeks is in the actual gamble itself. I rememebr needing 2k to cover bills and loan repayments for the following week, got lucky and won it, hit withdraw but 2 hours later I reversed it and gambled the lot. Literally could not stop myself, even though I had just dodged a bullet. The madness of it all.

Done that before. Won £2,996 quid. Decided to play roulette to win £4 to make it an even 3k. Waiting until 10 reds in a row were spun then bet £4 on next being black. Aother 10 reds came in a row and I'd lost over £2k from wanting to get £4 to make an even 3k. I was so ashamed. 20 reds spun in a row.....

What was worse? I decided to try and put all the remaining balance I had on Red....black came in.
