Hi Joydivider

Thanks for your support mate, how does it work with a DRO, does your account get monitored?

I can do bits of overtime at work but apparently I won't be able to, wage has to be same every week/month doesn't it?

Day 8.

Got through another day or not gambling. Still a long hard journey ahead but coping okay without a bet.

It's the financial stress that's getting to me, I know I'm safe Sundays so don't want tomorrow to come around as that means the vultures will be circulating.

Can't thank you all enough for the Support on here. It's much appreciated.

Keep on keeping on.

I have completed a Debt Management Plan, took me 4 years to pay £20k, I used a company called PayPlan, non profit making and have a close working working relationship with creditors.

They help you with letters, budget plans etc and deal directly with your creditors, threatening letters pretty much stopped overnight as soon as they were involved.

First step is to pay £1 per months to creditors with a polite letter explaining your in financial difficulty and ask them to stop any charges and interest until you can arrange a monthly paypmebt plan.

All the best, and well done on staying gamble free.

I've a meeting with CAB Thursday to discuss what is best for me going forward.

Bet that's a huge relief to you that you're nearly debt free, well done mate.

My DMP was finished a couple of years ago, I stupidly went and amassed £3k gambling debt again.

Paid off, again, and I'm NOT gambling again, 14 days now gamble free.

Good luck for Thursday.

Two huge nights ahead.

Day 10.

Reached double figures in days without a bet. A great achievement, still a long road ahead but I'm going in the right direction.

GA tomorrow night, really nervous about it.

Double figures, that's great!! Definitely an achievement.

Good luck with GA tomorrow night. I'm sure everyone is nervous when they first go. I'm planning to go to my nearest GA meeting next Tuesday and I know I will be nervous too! Let me know how it goes for you.

Day 11.

STILL NO BET!!! Very proud of myself.

Didn't go ga though, was anxious about it so called gamcare who have organised one to one counselling instead.

The big kick in the guts I've had today is that CAB have cancelled my appointment for tomorrow, I'm absolutely gutted, was looking upon tomorrow as my opportunity to finally face upto and organise my debts. I won't lie, I'm furious at them.

Why is god putting all these obstacles in my way?

Day 12.

The golden dozen without a bet. Best mental strength I've been in for years, very focused.

Big downer was my debt management put back until next Wednesday but feel good and very positive today.

Onwards & Upwards

Day 14.

Managed two whole weeks without a bet, some achievement for me. I'm thrilled, really proud of myself, gambling wise I've never been in a better place.

However I don't feel any better as a person, starting to worry about loads of small, even pointless things.

Feels all very bitter sweet

No the fact that you are worrying about small simple things is actually fantastic. It means your mind is not consumed with gambling and it's living again, realising all the small and simple things that we neglect during our gambling crazy moments.

I lost a interest in everything during my gambling get sessions and it takes time to get a sense of life and other issues again.

Just do not for once think gambling again is am escape from the small problems again - it makes the problems disappear by placing another huge problem in the way.
