Hi Missycat and welcome to the Forum,

We are sorry to hear you husband has a problem with gambling that he won’t admit to at this time. We understand that this must be a very difficult and stressful time for you, you are willing to support your husband but at the moment you are not sure how best to do so.

Please know that you are not alone in this and that the support we provide is not only for those struggling with a gambling addiction but also for those affected by it too.

We would like to provide you with a more personalised level of support and would recommend that you call our HelpLine on 0808 8020 133 or visit our NetLine.

I can also recommend visiting our Family and Friends Chatroom on Wednesday’s between 7pm – 8pm a place where partners, families and friends can come together to support each other.

Kind regards

ChrisK

Hi Cat, from one who has caused damage to my own loved ones please, please let us help you on the road to recovery... yes, YOU need help also to recover from this shocking news. even if at this moment your partner thinks he is able to cope and maintain control over his addiction its NOT possible for him to undertake this challenge on his own, unaided! He needs you, us, help from elsewhere... whatever works for him and allows him to remove the flaw in his character that sends him to gambling?

We are here to give you an insight into the ‘other’ side of the fence. I think its better to know what you are dealing with and get all the information etc that you need to arm yourself with the tools to pull him through...?

Good luck and many blessings,

John Pops

Hi Missycat, i hope you find all the help you need here , im glad that you are there to support your husband. My partner left but i have found loads of support on here , getting a therapist was a massive help and this got me to my trigger points .I have been here since the new year and it is the best thing i have done.

I have kept myself busy and taken up new hobbies ,put the blocks in place as well , my parents and friends have been really surportive as well. It is a daily battle but one i want to do and will keep fighting forever.

The break up of my  20 year relationship is really heartbreaking not just for me but my children as well, i hope your husband will see the light and i wish you all the best in your fight.

Regards
