Hi all,
I need some help and advice on writing a letter to my husband? I don’t even know what to say or where to begin?
I’ve been gambling through Facebook for 3 years now, have run up a huge amount of debt, some of it in his name and he doesn’t know.
I’m so ashamed, and I’m so reluctant to say anything to him, but I know I can’t go the next 6 years (when debt is paid off) without him finding out??
I'm thinking the absolute worse, we split up, my boys then from a broken family? Everyone else finding out (his family ads very judging, even though they say they’re not!)
Any help will be gratefully appreciated.
Thanks x
Dear .....
There is no easy way of telling you this but I have developed a gambling addiction online and I am now in serious debt. An addiction is something you learn by repeating your behaviour during a very long time. Even if it could take some time for you to understand my actions you should know that it has nothing to do with you but everything to do with me. I will now need to seek help so that I can overcome this addiction and it is going to take some time for me to make things right. Just rest assured that I am mentally done with this illness and I will now spend my time on better things than lying and being dishonest because that is what this addiction brings forward. I do understand that it is my problem to bear but I would like your help and understanding during the course of recovery because we are a team and team means together everyone achieves more. So don't give up on me yet. You will see another type of person on the other side of this journey.
