I I'm new here and I just need to vent my frustration with myself at being so sick to be able to have gambled so much of my and my family's hard earned money away. I can't believe it myself but I'm gonna get help and fix this.

My gambling has been to try and get xtra cash here and there but big losses led to me taking out phone contracts just to sell the phones to make back the money lost. Iv been stupid and ruined my credit score and home life. I have now gotta sort it all out somehow. I'm done lying and leading this double life.

Hi,

The best thing you have done is admit you have a problem, own it and surrender to it,you have to put every measure in place exclude from all bookmakers online in shop,do not have access to any money, credit cards, try not to be too hard on yourself , this addiction takes your soul and will always put you on your a**e,I recommend to seek addiction counselling who can guide you through the complex nature of this and why it has altered a tiny part of your brain, being a compulsive gambler and admitting to it is very brave and fair play to you for doing so, you have to retrain your brain and change certain ways you lead your life,it’s going to take time and there’s no quick fix, you can do it but you’ve got to be at a point where enough is enough and you can no longer carry on with the destructive cycle of win lose and chase, open up to your closest people around you don’t try and hide it,be honest with yourself and your family, you can do it ,keep a diary and keep busy, anything other than gambling, I wish you well.
