Hiya

I'm sorry to hear what your going through.  I'm also a mum and have been in your position.  The advice that's been given to you is very good.  I'm 35 days gf and been at rock bottom.  I wish someone had of helped me.

Keep your chin up

Xx

Hi boo I did reply to you hours ago and the reply never got posted, I don't think you are allowed to offer the kind of help you did. even though I would be extremely grateful at this moment in time. I've sat here 10 hours waiting for my reply to get to you then it didn't get posted at all x

Please be careful sharing your Facebook online. People pray on vulnerable people. I learnt this lesson the hard way. Stay safe sweetheart. x

Hi Chantelle and welcome to the forum.

Openness and honesty is the way forward as you are doing here. You have to reach out for all the help on offer.

There is no shame in telling people you have been in the grip of a highly dangerous addiction. Its an addiction which doesnt care about your wellbeing as long as it gets its fix. It doesnt care if you have food in the cupboards or if you have children

Its an addiction thats extremely powerful and dangerous.

There should be a food bank in your area linked to a small church or help group. You have to get links from the council or CAB and you have to tell people that you need help. You will have to swallow any self respect or self reliance pride because the addiction took that from you a long time ago.

These are the devastating results of a national scandal thats costing lives. I had no food in the cupboards and no electricity on when I was gambling. My parents kept me off the streets but I was lying to them about why I needed money.

The gambling must stop and you should try to tell people thats why you have no money. You cant hide this so people can help you properly.

I know its difficult but youve got to get out there and if you can speak to someone in charge at work they can help some sort of restriction to cash access and even a loan.

Ok you may feel embarrassed but thats NOTHING compared with an addiction which kills people!

Youve got to tell people close to you. A visit with the doctor is a real help as they can diagnose an addiction and refer you to other help

A stranger is just a friendly help you dont know yet so you have to widen the network. There was a modern style small church that helped me with meals food etc...I didnt have to go religious but it was a comfort to see a group of people for a meal...then they could talk to me, guide and advise.

Phone or call in at the CAB as they have contacts

Best wishes from everyone on the forum
