24 years gambling on daily basis, just can't stop
Today I passed my 24 hours without placing a betÂ
I feel like I will get heart attack,I am shaking, feel ill, don't want to eat, don't want to do anything
Placing bet was on my mind about 20 times during a day this is crazy sickness.
Did not place a bet and right now I am on 27 hour of being gambling free
Feel like drug addict
Hi @wbr9jcpn3y,Â
Well done on 27 hours gamble free, I know it may feel tough right now but that is a big achievement especially when you are usually gambling daily.
I'm sorry to hear it's had such a negative impact on how you are feeling though, it sounds like you could benefit from some support from your GP with your wellbeing so I would encourage you to reach out to them.Â
Please know we are here to support you and want to make sure you are ok, our advisors are available 24 hours a day on the helpline on 0808 8020 133 or via live chat. Do get in contact and we can talk everything through and look at all of the support available to you.Â
Please do continue posting and sharing your story,Â
Best wishes,Â

Seriously that is amazing.... You should give yourself a massive pat on the back.
Take each hour at a time. You may go through withdrawals but it is worth it.
Keep us updated. One hour at a time until you can detox from gamblingÂ
It takes a couple weeks to get out of the gambling zone. Yes it is crazy and abstaining from it completely is the only way to get away from the urges and thoughts. And even when you do that you still need recovery and self improvement to repair the damage it has caused mentally and physically top.
Stopping eating is a clear sign of being addicted to it.
I hope you find the help you need on this site and keep regular posts.

Today is going go to be full day 2 gambling free at 14.00pm
Urges to gamble are much less then they were yesterday
I Have eaten, slept all night and didn't think of gambling at all
I had a nice conversation on the phone with Gamcare last night regarding self exclusion with MOSES
I Have registered with MOSES 10 months ago and banned myself from Al bookies within 20 miles of place where I live.
Obviously over 10 of them bookies still let me to come inside and place bets, play slots whatever.Staff didn't had a clue that I was self.excluded.So I called MOSES last night and made complaint.
They told.me they can call them bookies and fine them if I was inside placing bets within last 7 days.I said yes I've been there not just in last 7 days but every day for last 7 months or so and nobody told.me.nothing
@wbr9jcpn3y that is great ? a real achievement and you should reward yourself (with anything non gambling obviously ?).
You will go through ups and downs now, but it will be easier than the first 24h.
Days will pass by without you wanting to gamble and you may feel lighter and happy. However don't get complacent, suddenly you may find yourself repeating old mistakes as your brain reverts back to old behaviours.
Get a plan to occupy your time that would have been spent gambling. Get another fix for your dopamine like exercise, cold showers etc
Affected by gambling?
