Hi guys. I am new here. I am a chronic compulsive gambler. Have been gambling online playing poker and sports betting since last 5 years. Have lost so much money. Recently went 80 days without gambling, my personal best, but relapsed again since 1 month. And such a bad relapse lost almost 1/4 of my total gambling losses in one month. Feel like i am totally out of control and reaching extreme levels of gambling. Have very less amount left in my bank now.I feel my main reason and also a main reason for many gamblers is that i keep chasing losses. But now i am really determined to stop. Feel like my losses have reached a point where it is impossible to recover. Have to make peace with the fact that the money i have lost gambling is never coming back. Today is my new day 1. Got to keep moving forward.

Hello Ned,

Well done for joining the forum and sharing your experience here.

It sounds like you feel determined to make this a turning point.

You mentioned that you had stopped for 80 days before your recent gambling. How about taking advantage of your current high level of motivation, and taking action to protect yourself in practical ways, to reduce risk of relapse.

Please look at the self-help sections on self-exclusion, blocking software and money management: https://www.gamcare.org.uk/self-help/

If you are based in Britain, please call us on 0808 8020 133 so we can offer you further support.

Take care,

Adam.
