Hi all,

I'm new here...which I suppose is a good thing and a bad thing...bad because I have a reason to be and good because I'm at least acknowleding it and trying to change.

Today was a pretty low day - mainly because I spent three days with my mind completely off the topic of gambling and then, within a very short space of time today, saw it all go out of the window.

For me, it's not necessarily about losing money that irritates me; it's more about not being able to exercise control.

Anyway, I'm glad this forum exists.

EDIT: Even through looking through the forum I've made a good start: I read some banks allow you to block your debit card for gambling websites. Mine does and I just used the app to block gambling website transactions. First day of the process and it feels a little better already.

Hello Greyville

A warm welcome to the Forum where you will receive great support from others in Recovery from problem gambling.  I hope that you find some comfort connecting and knowing that you are no longer alone.

Problem gambling is cunning, powerful and baffling and without help it is too much.  Many people find it very useful to get advice and support for how to deal with the impact of gambling harm and I sincerely hope that you do too.

Along with this Forum we have Advisers available 24/7 to help you through this time.  You can get in touch by calling 0800 8020 133 or using our LiveChat option.

I strongly encourage you to contact us so we can discuss the best way to move forward.

As you will see from the Forum change is possible and there is light at the end of a very dark tunnel - One Day At A Time.

Best

Amanda

Thanks, Amanda.

I think I'm going to start a diary to keep on top of things - thank you for your help so far.
