Hi, just wanted to post to say there is light at the end of the addiction tunnel.  I have posted occasionally over the last three years when my addiction has been horrendous, my life was a mess, I had substantial debts and had spent so much gambling I felt suicidal I was in a bad place.  I took advice I registered with gamstop, I did often find ways around it.  However I have stuck to my resolve to quit gambling, even though I lost my mum and mother in law in the last 15 months.  I have Managed  pay off 3 big debts and my mortgage, I have savings, I still have 2 cards to pay off but I have money in the bank, I have no gambling hangovers, I have slipped up, it hasn’t been easy, addiction never is but life is better, I actually feel cleaner, it’s never easy but I couldn’t go on the way I was, I reached rock bottom, tried and failed suicide but came out the other side.  It takes serious will power.  It’s hard but please believe me it’s worth it.  I still need to get rid of my 2 debts and put cash back in my pension, I know I’m lucky I have a good job.  Please believe it’s worth it. Hi Ameliasgran,
It's really good to hear that you're doing so well! Thank you for updating us on your ups and being so honest about your downs as well. You have some serious achievements under your belt and have made such great progress. It's so inspiring how you've picked yourself up after lapses and not let them derail you completely. If you are finding that Gamstop isn't enough on its own, do give us a call on the helpline 0808 8020 133 and we'll give you a link to install Gamban blocking software for free. You might also try checking whether your bank offer the option to block gambling transactions.Â
Thank you for posting an update which I'm sure will be appreciated by those who remember you and those newer members who may be inspired by your journey.Â
Best wishes,
Deirdre
