Hi Barrow,
Gamcare can offer you counselling sessions but you need to be registered with a GP first. As soon as you do that we can arrange for you to see a counsellor.
Warm regards
Catarina
Hi Barrow, so sorry things are not good for you at the moment. It is important to get registered with a GP - you can do this HERE.
Once you get registered then your GP can refer you on for specialist counselling. Your mental and physical health both are affected by the struggle with addiction; it's a very tough task to take on recovery without support. I hope you found someone to talk with today and if you are struggling tonight please call 111 out of hours service as I am sure they have mental health nurses to deal with situations where you feel things have got out of hand (not sure which locality you are in but NHS 24 Scotland have this).
There are other organisations who deal with depression, which often leads to or is a result of addiction -HERE and HERE
Keep posting, let us know how you are getting on as we are concerned for you. Will be thinking of you and hope to catch up soon. Take care buddy x

Have been following your problems and feel I now need to offer you some support. I have had to care for someone in your position and I will just tell you a few things that have been done to help. First of all I can see you are concerned about not being registered with a gp. It is very easy - you pop into your local surgery or ring them and they will talk you through how to join. Once you are registered make an appointment to see the gp and tell them about your problem - which is what we did. They will give you advice on gambling counselling and as you sound so down they will talk about that. This is very often the first step to talking face to face about your problems. Then when you have done that - come back on here and get advice on self-exclusion and online free counselling or other and start a diary on here and keep talking as you have been. If you are still friends with your father in law or a member of your family ask them to take over your finances and that means giving them acccess to your bank and credit card statements and handing over the crredit cards etc to them. This way it makes it difficult for you to keep secrets about your money and that is definitely a problem with gambling - the secrecy. This has helped in our case. I think we can all see on here that you really do want to stop but it has all spiralled out of control but it is a case of taking a deep breath and getting some organisation back into your life. Sit down today and make a list of what you need to do starting with the above. Maybe if your family see you starting to take control of your life again your relationship with them will improve - I really hope so. I also know how pushy the gambling sites are and it is thrown at you on tv, online and everywhere and I personally hate them for it - if only they would come on here to read your story and all the others to see how it destroys so many families. So Barrow - let you and I and all the others on here show them they will not take our money until we drown in debt and lose our families and dignity and parents watching their kids suffering the pain of it all.
Let this be the first day of recovery Barrow - Wish you all the luck in the world
Good luck
