I have an awful addiction that has put me into thousands of pounds into debt. I have been gambling now for over 2 years. First started with covid and just a bit of fun. This has since completely spiralled out of control where i will spend every penny in my bank as soon as it come in.” Just one big win” id think to myself those big wins have came up and yet i will continue to play till i have nothing left. No matter how much money i win always play till i have lost it all. “Just get back up to my peak balance” or “if i hit X amount ill cash out” nope everytime. I promise myself everytime not this month i wont do it. But it happens again and again. I would really just want some help. I wish i could get this thought out of my head forever and put my family first.
Hi
Thanks for your posting. This is a great space for getting support from others either experiencing or having experienced similar struggles to yours. Don't forget you can also get support from the National Gambling Helpline where an adviser can help you to start to look at ways you can deal with your gambling addiction. The line is open 24/7 and someone there would be glad to help 0808 8020 133. Take care.

Put blocks in place my friend.....the problem is, whatever win is never enough, the urge to win that bit more takes over....Then the losses come and the urge to chase those losses take over......its a vicious circle where the only way out is to break it...
Get all the help you can...you can do this
Good luck
Gary
I have been i the same predicament as yourself, it’s tough.. I joined today again trying to understand what happens to me psychologically, when I gamble to don’t even recognise myself .. when it’s over I question myself how did that happen, even though I have cleared my debts I’m looking to take out new loan which is even weirder but thankfully my credit has took a hit because of the prior loan late payments .. hopefully it’s a matter of recognising the problem then taking taking action
Affected by gambling?
