Hi assie , Welcome to the forum , Youv'e come to the right place for help ! . Take comfort in knowing that we've all been where you are right now and all understand the way you feel . Look at other peoples diarys on here , they offer many pieces of advice on giving up and staying stopped !. Perhaps it may be good for you to contact an advisor and speak with them direct ? They can give you all sorts of advice and are there for you if you want to talk . Youve done the hard bit Assie by admitting you have a problem with gambling , So well done for that. Just remember to put as many barriers in place to stop you having accses to gaming websites or bookies if thats the case?. You can find more info on the gamcare site , Take each day as it comes with little steps !! All the best with your recovery , Bye for now Alan who will not gamble today !!

Hello assie,

Welcome to the forum and well done on reaching out for support.

If you like, you can begin a diary in the 'Recovery Diaries' section of the forum, as a way to regularly share some peer support with others who are also working towards recovery. It is possible to find yourself again, and to live in a healthier way that is more peaceful and real. You can use the forum space to tell your story of gambling and of recovery; here you have the support of your peers, as you create more well-being in your life.

Please talk with your GP about your tiredness, sleeplessness and suicidal thoughts. Well done on contacting us directly and arranging local support.

Take care,

Adam.

I can totally relate to everything you are saying. For me it is a day one again after having got beaten by gambling millionth time. I myself feel so fed up and I am penniless once again. I can only say you are not alone as Alan says and I hope everything gets better for all of us.

Here is to forthcoming non-gambling days together Assie.

Take care yourself.

Ergos, (Today is the LDoG)
