Hi I’m brand new to all this but really hoping to get some support and advice as I’ve hit rock bottom. I’m in the process of getting divorced and selling our home of 15 years, in debt up to my eyeballs, lost all self respect and it’s all down to me succumbing to online slots. The only good thing in my life is my lovely son. I want to beat this horrible addiction for his sake.

Hi what a mess, it's a stressful emotional time. Download blocking software. Watch the documentary 'view this if you're a slot addict ' it's further down the page. Go to a GA meeting where you'll get support. If you really want to stop go there. Also call gamcare and talk to someone about options for counselling. You really need support at this time. If you have a close friend or relative who can help with your finances that's good too, get rid of your access to credit cards so you can't gamble online. Good luck!

Hello WAM

Perhaps in the fullness of time you will grow in strength in your fight and feel confident to change your Nickname to a more positive one! 🙂 I think if you keep coming back here you will suceed.

I started here a few days before you. Bookmaker FOBTs is (lets be positive and was) my problem and I decided to take action to go straight. It's not easy and I can imagine that online G as I wrote in my first post in this New Members section to the forum must be much more difficult to overcome, but overcome it you will.

Support from ppl here and constant re-inforcement by reading others' stories and, as I have just done, spent a couple of hours looking at Youtube vids on the topic is good medicine. I though at first that seeing spinning reels on screen, albeit in a documentary, would have the wrong effect on me but I am growing in determination and understanding. However I think it's medicine I need a daily dose of.

I applaud you for finding the courage and resolve to come on here. Well done!

Thank you for your support and encouragement, it’s good to know I’m an finally be honest with people instead of all the lies and deceit I’ve got myself into. I don’t have GA where I live but it’s good to read other stories and realise I’m not the only one. Good luck to you.
