Hi I am new to this website but have scrolled through peoples stories on here many times, usually when I’ve lost all my money to try make myself better, but today I decided to sign up as I once again for the 12th month in a row lost all my money gambling, I’m 21 years old started gambling when I was 19 after coming out of prison and have probably lost around 7-10k  I don’t have any debts and I’m unemployed so the money I gamble with is benefits, I feel like I’m less hard on myself for gambling this money away as it’s free and I don’t feel I have worked for it anyway, i usually get money at the begging of the month and rarely make it 7 days without my bank being back to £0 then I spend the next 3 weeks lending to next payday then I pay back what I lent and try to win that back as I feel like I’m down because I’ve paid back money I’ve lent, anything I buy in the real world I have to gamble the price of it to try and make it free if I win, sometimes it works but usually i end up paying double for anything I buy, the difference I think with me and other people on here is I genuinely love gambling mostly on horses, but at the same time I love the sport and could watch racing without having a bet ( if I had no money ) i have signed up to GameStop but only for 6 months as I just can’t imagine going a year without gambling, I know I can still go into betting shops and this is my plan as I would not possibly be able to go sit in a betting shop all day or go back and fourth to one when I lose because of my lifestyle but I really don’t want to stop betting, I just want to limit it and make it responsible, I guess what I want to know is is it possible for me to have a break from gambling and try to rewire my brain so I can gamble responsibly or am I simply just a gambling addict that will always be one till I stop
