Hi . I am new to this site . Been gambling online since around 2023 and have easily lost £30k , thankfully not in debt but used savings . I registered for Gamstop but have now been using non gamstop casinos . Have had some large wins but just put it all back . I have a great job and earn good money but can feel losing everything if I don’t stop . Anyway just trying to reach out

Hello! I’ve just made an account with this site too and saw your post. Maybe you could ask your internet provider to block gambling websites? I’ve been having the same problem for years too, blocked my self on many websites then just find a new one to open. Even if I win I usually end up putting that back and more but difference is I have no savings and in debt, I just end up using whatever money I have for the month then end up struggling the rest of the month until I’m paid again. Think one of my main problems is that I need an operation which I need to find the money for so I gamble in the hopes of getting lucky enough to win the money I need. Think reality has hit and I’ve realised that isn’t going to happen so need to stop. It’s hard when you enjoy it but we can do it, it’s only for our own benefit long term 😊 Good luck !

Sometimes it can be a little easier to simply know you’re not alone. Being in the same boat as you at the moment that’s all I have to offer you ha. I have no business giving you any advice or acting anything other than the same as this. The blocks can only get you so far you will find a way around it when you start twitching and convincing yourself you could do it/win it again. Then before you know it you’re not even at square one you’ve found yourself below that in debt.  I remember not understanding crypto at all for a start it was so beyond me. But the compulsion to gamble made me learn and it hasn’t been good. It’s had ups but I’m currently on the way down and need to stop before it gets even worse. If only I could channel my clear ability to learn new things and be proactive with my learning on something worthwhile ha. Chin up let’s move forward x

I think the thing to remember is that we gamble to have fun. It’s not to win money, people never win money, it always goes back even if you do win. So is it fun? No. It’s stressful, painful, a waste of time and consuming. The times you feel anxious that you’ll miss a win. That’s not fun. And losing money? That’s not fun either. You’ll never make back what you’ve lost. All you can do to be a winner is to never do it again. That’s the bottom line. It’s ten dopamine releases of winning that compel you to play. It’s about finding new ways to feel that happiness. Because gambling isn’t happiness. The screen time! That alone messes with your brain. Lack of sleep and screen burn- it’s enough to lose money, but imagine causing long term brain damage. I hope  everyone is ok x
