Hi everyone,

I’ve read through these forums for about 2 months or so but I’ve never actually joined.. they just resonated with me and my problem gambling and now I feel like I need to break free and let myself have a new start at life.

I started to gamble at around 20 when someone from work walked into a casino on lunch and I went in too just to follow. I put £20 in and won (on slots) I could not believe it.. wow what a rush. 8 years later and I have a problem. I know I have a problem and I want to recover and give the loved ones around me what they deserve (not me constantly borrowing and blowing through wages).

I feel like I’m ready to hand the towel in and take the losses over the years I just don’t want to lose anymore. I had some money saved over 10,000 and it’s all gone over the years. I feel sick thinking about it but I don’t want to look back just want to keep going forward.

just looking for some moral support and put it out there in words so I know I can’t go back.

Self exclusion, Gamstop then Gamban.
It will be hard but you will do it. No if’s or but’s. If this is the first message to your post take heed. You’ll never win gambling not a £ nor thousands. It’s definitely not a money maker either.
Save those £‘s in someone you trust and in the long run you’ll be better off.

Thank you for your reply, feeling good and I’m so ready to kick the habit. I have Gamstop and will install gamban just taking this one day at a time.

Thank you for sharing your story, and it's a significant step to acknowledge that you have a gambling problem and that you want to make a positive change in your life. You're not alone in this journey, and there's a supportive community here to help you. Breaking free from problem gambling is challenging, but it's entirely possible with the right mindset, support, and determination.

it's important to take steps to safeguard your financial well-being. This might include limiting access to money, setting up a budget, or seeking financial counseling.

Hi

It is well worth while to read learn and understand where you are today.

Some people have been in meetings for months before they were able to open up and talk.

The addiction only indicates that you have certain emotional triggers.

To break free is all up to you.

By entering in to the meetings you are showing self worth towards your self  and your family.

I use to try and get things for cheap or for nothing.

I rarely use to treat my self to some thing nice.

The recovery program for me was a healing process.

The word recovery meaning healing in  an emotional way.

The healthy people in the recovery program will hep you make much healthier choices each day.

Once you are committed to the recovery program it will help you find a much healthier safer life.

The recovery program would ehlop me exchange unhealthy habits in to healthy habits.

By being in recovery program my fears would reduce.

By being in recovery program my pains would heal.

By being in recovery program my trust in my self would grow.

Just for today I don’t want to lose my self any more.

If you find healthy meeting with healthy therapies it will help you heal and make much healthier choices in your life.

Love and peace to you.
