Hi Mary, that's quite shocking that your GP is not helping you as there are agencies who work specifically with people with mental health issues. Perhaps she has not experienced this , or sadly does not accept that gambling is such a toxic addiction like smoking, alcoholism etc. Try googling 'Health in Mind UK' and there may be a setup near you; if they cannot help you directly they can forward you to the appropriate agency who can provide CBT. If you don't get anywhere through them, go back and see another GP and ask to be referred.
