Hi All,

Today me and my friend begin our 1st day bet free. Yesterday we lost over 1k between us chasing our losses. We have now self excluded from all online accounts and in all local stores.

We both have lost a lot of money over the last couple of years and have decided enough is enough. We have also tried on multiple occasions to stop with not much success.

Yesterday was my lowest point personally, I felt alone and so stupid. I cant describe how frustrated I was, not just at the fact I lost a lot of money but also because I felt like I couldn't stop.

In recent times we have done ok, doing over a month bet free, managing to save up some much needed cash then boom, new account, new funds, hit a loser, chase losses, dip into savings, chase again, etc. Same old story really.

Thats our story really. The initial few weeks seems easy, its once we start to save up some money the urge returns. Any advice on tackling our problem would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Thanks for your comment Happycamper.

I think that is the most important part about getting bet free, sharing and realising your not alone. I think thats where I went wrong before. Feeling isolated takes its toll on your mental health IMO.

Keep at it mate! Ill be sure to keep you updated with my story, please feel free to comment even if its just for reassurance.
