Hi, I'm new to something like this so not really sure how to do this.
Basically anything that I can bet on, I will do it. I've gambled rent money, children's savings and even borrowed money for food just to gamble. This weekend I had won 900 on the roulette machines, only to put it ALL back in plus 200 more. I have 2 children to provide for and feel like I can't even do that properly because of this addiction. It's almost as if I'm not happy until I've won a large amount of money just to lose it all. This is the first time I have ever spoken about this to anyone. I'm getting scared because people are starting to work out what I'm doing, I've even considered committing suicide over this addiction. Please, I just need someone to talk to about this.
Hello Beno,
I cant give clever advise, but I understand you so well.
Like you, I am all new to this forum and since I joined I feel so much better. I dont feel so alone anymore.
Like you I considered suicide as well, several times. The only thing that stopped me was the thought that it would all come out then and I would leave my family in debt.
Thats why I decided to fight against it now.
Lets put all energy and time we spent on gambling into fighting this monster. Lets get our lives back.
Good luck to you Beno! Join the others and me and start with your new life now. It can only get better.

Hello Beno14,
Well done for joining the forum and sharing your post.
There is a lot of warm peer support on the forum, as people share their understanding and recovery strategies. For example, for people trying to stop gambling at bookmakers, common measures include signing self-exclusion forms at your local bookmakers, rearranging your finances to reduce your instant access to money, and scheduling your free time with social commitments to give you another focus for your attention. You've had helpful replies from Tschotschi, heisenberg and gav123... if you like you can post again and use for forum for ongoing peer support.
