Hi all,

A quick intro to my story. I am 38 years old. My problem started when i was 17 years old, however the major problems only started last year and came to a head in August. I stopped for a few weeks, 'controlled' it for a few months, however finally lost control again in April. My partner has found out twice and now says she wants me to move out of our house and away from our children because she, and them deserve better. Its hard to disagree with her.

I have, in the past week, started to see a counsellor. I have self excluded myself from betting sites. And i have signed up here, to write my diary, join the 'check in' forum and to see how everyone else copes.

Thanks

J

Hi James,

A warm welcome to you on this Forum!

You have taken great steps to help you get your life back on track. Well done. Counselling, self-exclusion and joining us here on the Forum. You have received many responses on your recovery diary already and I hope that you will find all this supportive on your road to recovery.

All the best to you, James, and please remember that you can always get in touch with the HelpLine or NetLine, too, if you would like to talk to an advisor one to one about your situation.

Kind wishes and a good start to the week!

Gabriele
