Congratulations Mr B on completing the 10k and raising a fantastic sum of money for a very worthwhile charity. Also well done on the number of days GF - too often you are praising and inspiring us and we must remember to do the same to you - you're an inspiration with all that is going on with your life in addition to battling this addiction and finding the time to analyse our GF figures every week.

On a personal front I just wish I had stayed strong throughout the year without lapsing the many times but now I know it's my time and this time next year I want my name away up there saying 2015 GF. Like most folk we all have up/down days and triggers that being urges to our minds sometimes in the past reacting to these without considering the consequences til too late but as I said .....no more CHECKING IN FOR ANOTHER GF WEEK. Keep strong everyone. We can do it with the support of Mr B and this network.

Mo

Well done Mr B for an excellent update and well done on your other challenge, 10k. I couldn't even manage half K.

Whilst I aspire for my gamble free number to increase I don't ever want to overtake anyone further up than me and I certainly don't want to drop to the bottom either. So I shall continue where I am and the only extra names to be seen above mine will be new-comers who are already on their road to recovery. Now, did any of that make sense?? I think not! But it sounded OK before it left my brain and headed for my mouth (or fingertips as the case may be).

Well done to everyone on this challenge. I am proud to be marching with each and every one of you.

Elfie x

Well done Mr B on your brilliant fund-raising run - hope your feet have cooled down by now. Congratulations too on your Tri-century and to all others who have achieved milestones this week, including Elfie - welcome to the 100 Club!

Checking in for this week, in the hope that all those missing in action are holed up somewhere reading this Forum - please return to camp - Mr B and the rest of us can patch you up ready for the march again.

Thanks Mo and Elfie!!

Elfie - it makes perfect sense to me and mirrors my thoughts exactly - I always want to be exactly the same number of days in front or behind everyone else on the challenge. Which means.......I can't wait to be celebrating on my Day 562..........which will actually be me celebrating your 365 days!! Good times ahead.......that financial worry volume will be getting drowned out by life Mrs.

My spidey senses tell me that it's going to be a good week for the group. I'm looking forward to the update already......with a mid 30's number of soldiers all marching shoulder to shoulder to an amazing victory!!

With you there Mo, despite 2014 having ups and downs I look forward to having a clean 2015. This has just been the warm up learning from the best. 22 days clean and feeling great.

Great update Mr B and we'll done on your 10k including your fundraising. Have my own 10k next weekend with obstacles thrown in for the hell of it in Nottingham.

morning everyone. I'm checking in on day 134 gf. sorry for the lateness as I normally check in on a Monday but was admitted to hospital sunday and only released yesterday with heart problems yet again. luckily my stress levels are majorly reduced since I stopped gambling as I'm no longer living what seemed to be a double life, (gambling life and family life completely separate).

best wishes for the future everyone and stay strong, together we can do it!!!

Congratulations Mr B on the 10K run. Really aspiring to see an individual push themselves through pain and torture to raise money for charity so a massive well done for that. I'd just like to take a minute to thank both yourself and all the other members on this site. A couple of weeks ago I found myself in a very dark place and had nobody to turn to. I'm forever grateful that I came to this site and endurably appreciate the support provided and will do everything in my power to get rid of the haze and kick this demon. Without you guys there was no light at the end of the tunnel but I strongly believe now that I can do this and help others along the way.

Hope you all have a strong week and if any of you need somebody to talk to or just having a tough week then please contact me! Stay strong fellow soldiers.

Many thanks,

Andy

Mr.b fellow gamcarers

good morning all, mr b a huge well done on raising that cash and rising above those obstacles to do so.

Thanks for the welcome, I was truly humbled.

For me each and every person who faces up to this terrible addiction is deserving of the same praise, whether it day one or day 1000 we are all equal.

The compulsion to gamble is a great leveler, it is not prejudice, it takes all everyone has to gift and more.

it is inspiring to see so many take life back.

Well done to each and every one of you.

I am checking in gamble free.

40 years old today

they say life begins

for me it began the day I embraced recovery.

Duncs stepping forward never back.

no bet since 31/10/2013.

hi folks,

Still here and gamble free, still unwell with pregnancy.. and having to share my house with people I cannot stand. Other half's relatives, long story but is driving me crazy.

I am far from gambling but going through an emotionally dark time at the moment, I hope I can come out of the other side soon.

Still get odd memories of gambling, or feel like having a look at the websites, but only when I get angry.

I guess for me, it's more like a release of emotion than anything else. I am being strong.

Well done on all your gamble free days, we are stronger without this.

Checking in day 50 ish. No gambling to report, but I did start making a new account online this morning. I got onto the bit of filling in personal details and I stopped and closed the site down . I came close to dropping the baton and letting down the relay team. Tonight I am so grateful that I stopped but I am kinda devastated that I had the urge and began taking steps to gamble.

Have a good weekend everybody and keep the momentum going 🙂
