Good afternoon All,
Checking in on 616 gamble free days after a brilliant week’s holiday in Sunny / Rainy Cornwall with my family. It’s a good feeling that my wife can happily use our bank cards now without having the embarrassment of the cashier saying ‘Sorry your card has been declined’... This was a regular occurrence when I was gambling and I would have to make up some lies for why we had no money in our account.
Well that was the past and I don’t want to ever return to those dark times in my life. But I will take it a day at a time with my recovery.
Well done Mrdaniel1 on getting past 200 gamble free days. A great achievement and may it long continue.
Have a good weekend.
Mike
Massive well done Mike on 616 days plus... you're the inspiration i was looking for - keep it up....
i have made 258 days so far my record to date.
i hope to be hitting 616 days gamble free and beyond in the nearest possible future (i.e with no slips)
My NEXT massive target 🙂
Regards

Glad you're still going strong barryt27.
We have a very strong group now marching towards the last quarter of 2015, strength in numbers. Some amazing achievements and if you count the total days this year you've not gambled, you should feel very proud. Some of you have done great and not slipped once. Others have maybe slipped once or twice (myself included) but what is important is that we keep making the effort.
This challenge has probably saved me around £5000 - £6000 so far this year as a rough estimate. I'm proud to keep checking in each week and report no gambling and it keeps me going. Reminding myself of the debts I've to pay off helps me in moments where urges strike. I've accepted I'll never make money from gambling. I've accepted I'll always lose. I've accepted it does not give me pleasure. It makes me anxious. It causes health issues, physically and mentally. It can destroy relationships.
I'm checking in this week with almost 120 days gamble free. This is my previous best and now I'm going to continue and see out this challenge for the rest of 2015 and beyond.
Stay safe and keep checking in!
HUGE congratulations to I wished Suzanne on 500 days TODAY !!!!

not too bad but do have an occasional urge especially when my mates are doing it on football in the pub
however I do notice thT they do not look very happy and can lose a lot of money when they start chasing the debt
off to see the mighty palace play man city
you never know we could be top of the premiership !
thissite really does help and thanks for doing it

Keep strong chartom3 you know you're not missing out on anything by not gambling. When I get urges I try to think of how annoyed I am with the debts I've got from slot machines.
Try to bring the reasons you quit to the forefront of your mind when you feel those urges.

Good morning troops,
Checking in on 638 gamble free days. Just catching up with this weeks posts and it's humbling to see so much positivity around the forum. Well done to I Wished on getting over the 500 gamble free day mark, Suzanne what a inspiration you are for so many people on this site. Keep up your brilliant effort on your own recovery and for the support you give for others.
Lest We Forget, I hope that my figure does inspire you to keep going and not gamble. If my recovery can help not only myself but others on here then I will be extremely happy. 1 extra person not gambling is a Winner for me.
Everyone else, keep strong and just take it a day at a time and the urges will get weaker, I promise.
Mike
