Checking in on day 21 and I'm really pleased I've hit three weeks gamble free. I'm so thankful for the blocking software on my phone and laptop. I think this has been a big help in removing the opportunity to gamble from home. I've also managed to avoid going to bingo and told my friends never to invite me. I'm feeling positive about all the changes in my life since stopping. I'm now going to be able to afford to pay for my holiday in July and save up the spending money. I'm also saving up to replace the money in my kids accounts that I 'borrowed' to fund gambling. This will be paid back by the end of this challenge.

I'm enjoying having money to spend on a weekly basis and not having to continuously check my internet banking for pending gambling transactions.

Im grateful for the continued support from my friends and the support from this forum and the guys who drop by my diary and post words of encouragement.

Well done to all other soldiers embracing the challenge and let's keep marching on together 🙂

Clare x

Hi all,

Checking in for Day 11. All is going well so far. I've been too busy with work to even think about gambling! Looking forward to a gamble free weekend. Even though it will be payday, I'm determined to stay strong!!

Hey soldiers, I'm just checking in on day 46. I have downloaded an app called Dreamdays and I can put countdowns on it to big events and also a count of days gamble free. I look at it every morning to see the gamble free days increasing and also to see that I have 231 days till my trip to New York. 231 days to make that choice not to gamble and then I will have a well deserved holiday. I have harmed myself for so many years, but this year is different I choose not to have that bet and I will reap the rewards. Already I am feeling a much more happy and positive person!

Good to see there have been 41 check ins, we are still missing a fair few, so make sure you are checked in for the week and if you notice anybody isn't yet checked in give them a reminder on their diary.

16 days done and going strong but I have gotten to over 100 before so not counting my chickens. I've even had extra money to pay off some debt and still enjoy myself this month. Focussing on my jogging, weight loss and keeping happy. This site and this group has been a great motivator and have really helped me turn things around. Thanks all. Life is really looking up. Great to see new people still committing to make 2015 the year they stopped gambling too. Fantastic.

Happy happy days, well done on bringing up 400 days Mike. Its good that at the start of the year with so many new members that we can all see the impact the 2014 challenge has had on some of us. This time next year there will be more of us hitting 400 days!

Keep the check ins coming in and for anyone struggling this week or struggling because another weekend is close do your best to fight the urges, Giving in to the urges will lead us back into a life full of pain, deceit and of course take away every penny we have. Read a few diaries on here or shout out for some support, we are all in this together and with each other we can make 2015 our year!

Brilliant forum this is!

Really helping me be strong, Phil your words of caution to resist and stay aware are very helpful and many thanks to - also to all of you on here for the shared experiences and encouragements to all of us tackling this.

Day 13 for me, unlucky number?! Not for me! Another day without the self harm of compulsive gambling. Day 13 check in.

Early days but the road is long and I am staying on it! And there's plenty of room on this road for all of us so.... March on!

Within 2 more months my financial position will be more stable 🙂 my head space and emotional well being are already feeling the positive effects of abstinence.

Going to be a very tight month this month but next new years January will be very different!

Keep on keeping on people, stay focused and guards up, soldier on, strength in unity.

good evening 🙂
