2017 Challenge

Day 8

Worked again today, 12 hour shift. But it was a good day and kept me busy. Still not gambled on a FOBT..Nipped into see the lady that manages my local betting shop. I get on with her, and didn't want her thinking I had fell out with them. Wasn't even tempted...maybe that will change and I will be tempted. Am just happy when I look at my bank balance and it looks very similar to what it looked like yesterday.

Thanks for confirming Deano, didn't want to be one of those that post too much. For me it is a habit, but a good one. Working again tomorrow, have decided to move my diary around and take Monday off to rest, which will be nice. Do you know the other nice thing. I was in town with work on Friday, and during the trip, I bought myself some bits, Manuka Honey Sweets in Holland and Barratt, bath stuff in Lush...But I actually spent money on myself..Before this I was always 'saving money to gamble'..it was a nice feeling.

Checking in on Day 15. I'm not gonna lie, the latter part of this week has been so so hard. I have made progress though as I've told my partner that I use this website and read the stories on here. He seemed really proud that I'd taken the step to help myself. I would like to post more but I think I'm going to do that on my diary. If anyone wants to have a read, you can find it through my profile. Feeing very emotional this week 🙁 x

Check in Day 3! Still not sleeping very well, a bit depressed but trying to focus on the good things that I am blessed to have in my life,family,friends,health etc. Have a good day to all of you and lets stay GF!

Checking in 5 days now now gambling it's hard but getting there . Anyone got any tips trying to keep myself busy but so tempted to buy a scratch card

Almost were all tempted at times but if you don't act on the temptations then that's all they are. Imagine you won say £30 what would you do? Go out for a nice meal, probably not you'd just get some more scratch cards and the cycle begins again you'd be chasing your losses again.

As for keeping busy I read diaries on here pick on read it from the start. I also got stuck it box sets and would binge watch a series, others do exercise it rekindle a old hobby.

Keep away from the first bet and the second and third will never come.

Checking in day 85

10 days GF ... Had a good day today , the key is keeping myself busy . Self excluded ALL sites although still get emails from the bleeps ! Bank account still intact , they prob think I'm on holiday ! Feel like my mood is lifting too . My big challenge is 28th Jan party night . alcohol is my trigger . I will however abstain from Gambling and stick with it . Went to a dog show today , usually would have had a go on the T*****a , did not today bought a slice of walnut cake instead . Good luck to everyone else fighting ! C x
