Currently on day 7 of GF, I realise it’s still early in my recovery and I’m always aware that the slightest thing could send me spiralling if I allow it to, but in my head I am done with that life. Just dealing with the aftermath of this addiction which has left me in £9k worth of debt and unsure of what to do next. These are loans, credit cards etc. i currently have payment plans set up for all of them but these are only temporary, honestly i wanted to do the snowball method and pay one debt at a time. What methods have people used to get there debt down?

Don't worry about the debts mate it's just a piece of paper that's it.

Stay determined not to gamble and things will get better.

Setup Payment Plan to pay minimum amounts to your creditors. As long as you're paying something your worries will go away

Don't try to pay your debts one after another tk clear it all off as soonest as possible that is the biggest switch to look for more finances.

You won't find the answer for your finances in gambling.

Hi also currently on day 7 gamble free this is the 3rd time I've attempted this but am feeling more confident about it this time

Also in debt 4 credit cards I'm paying the minimum on 3 of them and concentrating on the smallest one I think this is snowballing I've also deleted the credit cards of my phone and handed the cards to someone I trust and being honest with people is a weight lifted

@wbr9jcpn3y thanks! That is such good advice. I’m managing to keep up to dates with the payment arrangements, so will concentrate on just paying them and paying extra when I have extra! Thankyou

@4xrajn59d3 aw yay! 7 days is a good starting point, like you I feel confident about it this time. I’ve quit before so I know I can do it again. Yes I don’t have my credit cards on my phone and won’t be using them once paid off. We can do this ✊🏼

KJ123 bang on that's exactly what I was talking about.Setup minimum payments that they allow you to pay and when you got extra money that you decide to pay towards it then you do it,just like you said.If you won't have extras for some period of time then don't worry about it too much.As long as you paying something you'll be fine.Dont put too much pressure on yourself about financial situation.Times will be tough I know that but don't ever think in back of your head that you're short on cash or allow your mind trying to tell you,you know what I've done it before it might happen again.

It won't happen it never will happen, always think where gambling got you !!!

That's what I am doing. If people could be rich of gambling nobody would go to work every day why would we.We would sit in bookies or at the machines living a dream.

Never seen single casino or bookies to bankrupt in my lifetime have you?I think you don't have to answer that mate.

Wish you all the best in your journey pal.I really do from bottom of my heart

@wbr9jcpn3y yes that’s so true. I’m keeping up with minimum payments and paying extra where I can, I think it’s just a relief to get the the 2 week mark of no gambling! There’s light at the end of the tunnel and I know I won’t go back to it, I’ve not had any massive urges to get back to it and certainly no thoughts about depositing . I’m already in a better position financially within that 2 week of no gambling so that’s a start! Thankyou! I wish you all the best too!
