I haven't gambled since 10/05/15, my last relapse was a few good months, the one before was almost 6. The focus and goal is obviously to stop completely. However I was just contemplating how far I've come, I mean from the kind of gambler I was. If a year ago someone told me you will be relapse 3/4 times in the next 12 months....it's not great but it would have and is a mountain of success for me. I remember not being able to go a day without.
So perhaps if you find yourself in a relapse, it's not all lost aslong as you can cemment it as just that, a one off relapse rather then a return to active gambling.
Hope everyone is winning the good fight within themselves. If this can happen to me, it can happen to you.
I am the idiot who gambled away 10's of thousdands at a time in machines and casinos, playing a computer/system designed to part me from my money in favour of the house/computer. When that was gone, I'd resort to 100's, then 10's, then coins till I felt suicidal. If this small improvement in a long road to recovery can happen for me, it can happen for anyone. Goodnight.
Hi well done on being free from gambling for a while judderman. Keep going, its worth it in the end. If somethings worth doing its worth doing badly before you do it right! Thats my motto! I have relapsed 3 times, im trying to take control now as of this weekend just gone by. A light just clicked in my head i had to get help and here i am!
The main thing is to never stop trying to stop and at the same time make the best effort you possibly can.
Keep up the good work.
Dave
