well i abstained for a whole 6 months, the most ive managed in 17 years of gambling. but the demon reared its ugly head and i was gradually swapping the gamcare forum for the poker forum. The 6 months casino self exclusion was running out and i was already planning my return and also my return to the realms of oline poker. over the last 6 months my life has improved so much, i got out of debt, i found new hobbies, i was happy , and most importantly became a better father and partner. in the last month ive lost about £2.5k, missed 2 days of work and about 6 gym / kickboxing sessions ( hadnt missed any work in the previous 6 months ) and ive been tired and depressed due to staying up till sometimes 3am gambling. So as of today i am back on the wagon ive self excluded from the poker sites that i wasnt banned from, ive installed betfilter on my computer (free liscence using the code unibet100) and im about to go to the casino and self exclude for as long as possible under the sense programme that excludes you from most casinos in the country.6 months isnt long enough no way. Onwards and upwards , hopefully i will get to a year free and beyond this time.

good luck on your own journeys.

thanks for reading.

Hi johnlostmydo,

It's been a while since you've posted, and it sounded like you have had some very good action plans. Lapses happen, even if you have been doing really well. It is important to learn from these lapses, and it sounds like you have learned and are changing your approach to recovery.

I hope you have managed to put everyhting into place and that you are back on your recovery journey over the past 2-3 weeks.

All the best,

Eva

Hello John,

I hope you have been keeping well and are back on the seemless never ending wagon!!
It's a wagon that seems to have no end, I'm sure we can find the end of it somewhere........most people do apart from a small percentage.... me included in that

All the best
