Hi All
I have been on here before.
I had a slight relapse today as short on money and lost my mind a bit..
I feel like a cheated idiot.
I deposited 30 on a well known site, 30 x 1 bets on standard blackjack, lost every single bet. Dealer got 20 pretty much every time. Not only do I feel like a complete **** but I feel like I have been robbed.
To say that it is that fixed, with the odds on blackjack, is beyond belief.
This will only make me more determined to stop.
*sigh* Help me..
Hi Itsover,
Sorry to hear about your relapse, and I understand how frustrating that can be. I'm glad that's fuelling your determination to stop, though.
Have you thought about downloading blocking software, like Gamblock or Betfilter? Those programs would prevent any gambling sites from opening on your computer, and could be a barrier to gambling the next time you might be tempted online. Lots of gamblers here find them to be really useful.
If you'd like to speak to us about any of this, or maybe to inquire about individual counselling, we'd be happy to help on either the Helpline (0808 8020 133) or the Netline. We're open 8am to midnight every day.
Hope this helps,
Travis
I also had a big problem with online blackjack.
itsover - please use the feeling of frustration of being cheated as a positive and a fuel to your determination.
1. For me, the worst thing that ever happened to me was winning 11,000 in a night.
2. ......and the best thing that ever happened was I put in 30, I won 5,000 and the bookmaker refused to pay me because they say I broke the terms of my sign-up bonus. My arguments didn't get anywhere.
The second point was a real kick in the teeth, but it made me realise how futile gambling was. I now treat many of the big losses as a positive thing because they made me see the light and gave me more motivation to give up. Winning is even more dangerous! Good luck itsover.
