HiÂ
Hope everyone is well
Similar to the song thread, has anybody got any recommendations for books that have helped them in recovery?
Hi Bluespace,Â
Find an author that you really like and binge through their works - i like Lee Child/Robert Crais/James Patterson all have decent collections of works. Or Sean Russel Thomas does a really good naval series thats worth reading (if you like that type of work).Â
For me (personally), reading about how to recover or books on addiction had an adverse affect and made me want to gamble more. I moved to crime fiction and became quite an avid reader.Â
Hi AndyÂ
Thanks for advice, have purchased Paul Merson Autobiography - so will be interesting to see if that affects me in any way. Also went with a few fiction books aswell.Â

Take careÂ

The Allen Carr book on stopping gambling helped me massively and really made me think about the whole process. With this site and gamstop also I have been gamble free for over 3 years now 🙂

I suggest Shawn and Drew's 21 steps to stop gambling. http://www.stop-gambling.com/
Thanks everybody for replies. Really appreciate it. That's me gamble free for 3 months. I feel as if hobbies and things such as reading help so much. I am half way through Paul Mersons book 'hooked' and would recommend it to anyone. An inspiration. It does get better.Â
Affected by gambling?
