Thanks for this post, I am going to my 1st GA meeting on Tuesday and it has helped to read what to expect. I am anxious about going but I know now that I need to. One thing I am worried about is my gambling addiction may seem quite trivial to others at the meeting. I am a compulsive gambler and spend more time and money than I should, have had ti borrow money as have bern left with nothing to pay my bills.I have tried to stop on my own without any success. But I know how much worse others have it and I dont want them thinking 'why is she here' if that makes sense
Best thing I've ever done in my life is walk through the doors of GA. Not sure how or why but it seems to work. Don't worry about what people think. The things you have mentioned are all too common in GA and you will find many people that can relate to what you have been through. I've made plenty of friends in GA and we meet up and do things outside of GA also. Don't be afraid, it'll be all worth it.
