Its hard when your trying to stop gambling with the constant ads on TV.but what worries me more is the exposure children are getting to this.its non stop every premier league match.latest odds etc.if kids are not allowed in bookies then why are the bookies and casinos allowed in our living rooms everyday grooming the next generation of potential problem gamblers.

Hi New

I am 100 percent in agreement with your post. I spent 1 day about a month ago on a sat just counting the amount of exposure gambling got in my house. Well it really made me sick- from ads on the tv for bingo in the morning to sponsors of football teams to adverts for live betting during matches to lottery to online casino ads on the radio. This is disgusting if you ask me. All gambling adverts should at the very least be put on after the watershed! Its like a form of grooming the next generation into major CG's!

Anyway thanks for your post and sorry for my little rant lol!

Linda

I agree with you.

1 in 5 ad is a gambling ad.

On sports channel all you see is bookmakers advertising latest odds even in football matches there are posters everywhere.

Not only that you are starting to see ads in the train stations and inside the trains.

How can you combat gambling addiction when they are everywhere someone has to put restriction on the amount of advertising these bookmakers can do and where they can advertise.

Or we should start a petition or something.

Above link explains why they are allowed to do it.as I said its making it socially acceptable to a lot of children.I would say a high percentage of boys aged 11-16 watch the football every sat and Sunday on TV.they are being bombarded with these ads promising money.teen are impressionable.I think it could encourage a lot of kids to start gambling.I myself was exposed to gambling from a young age which lead me to were I am today.this law needs changed.I think the TV companies have a social responsibility here.but when they raking in 200 grand for a 30 second slot its hard to see them taking the moral high ground.
