Excellent.Â
About time the big banks offered this facility.
Well Hmmmmm......my view is that the card should automatically not be allowed to be used for a gambling transaction.
If we are to combat gambling dens draining communites then the financial institution have to face up to the moral  question.
A financial institution should be based on good sense and good foundations...allowing cardholders to gamble is morally bankrupt in my opinion.
It shouldnt just be a cardholder choice...any gambling transaction should be red flagged for the protection of UK and worldwide citizens
Fantastic to see this. Just applied it on my account. I’m in a good place after 3 years not gambling but like to put these things in place as you never know what’s round the corner. I won around £xxxxxx in a day about 5 years ago. Paid my overdraft off which was £1000 at the time and all my payday loans. It wasn’t long before the money was spent and the loans were again taken out and the overdraft maxed out. Only this time Halifax gave me a £xxxxx overdraft instead of £1000. At the time I thought this was great until I spent every penny and was then charged £3 a day interest. Halifax will have seen the signs and chose to do nothing to help me. It’s pretty disgusting when I think about it. I am just glad I’m no longer in that place now. It seems since I stopped gambling, a lot has been put in place to help us out.Â

Can't seem to see this option on the Bank of Scotland app. I'm going to enquire at a branch to see if its available.
Lloyd’s Bank have done this as well. I froze my card a few weeks back.Â
