I've greatly reduced the amount of gambling in my life but it still lingers on. Most days I can make it through without gambling but sometimes the urge is so strong I need to gamble to release the pressure in my brain. I would like anyone who can to offer suggestions of how to overcome these urges. Thanks.
think you will have to put all imagineable blocks in place from gamban for online and contacting moses for bricks and mortar also by blocking any gambling transactions on your bank card is the only way to do it .contact the gamcare team for one to one counselling also .you will have to full on committed to stopping this cycle of gambling its a long road but by putting obstacles in your way to deter you it makes it so much easier to take back control of your life best wishes and blessings
Gambling was a big part of your life. You will miss it, you will get urges. You have to fill the void left by finding new things to do. It sounds hard to do but the things you start to do you will quickly start to enjoy. Read a book, play a console game, go for a walk, watch a film, pick up a hobby you used to do, learn a language. Find something that you can really focus on and slowly that will become your safe space. The space you thought gambling was.Â
It can be done, you can do it, you just need to replace the gambling time with something more productive and less destructive.
Stay strong 💪Â
Thank you for your replies. I am going to the library and get some good books to read and go to GA meetings.Â
