I just caved and put my last £250 in a fobt in bookies, I'm miserable I can't believe I've done this again, I feel so s**t. I've been trying to quit gambling for four years and the most I've managed is about a month, is there any advise
No easy answer, can I ask why you felt the need to go in? What was the trigger?

Honestly, bordum I think, i didn't even care about the money at the time
Hi,
I know what you're going through. Many times after not gambling for months I would convince myself I could put a small bet on then end up blowing all my money. You need help. Self-excluding from the local bookies is the first step. I know it's embarrassing but I got a good reaction from all the bookmakers I excluded from. Most staff know how problem gambling wrecks lives. Apparently over 50% of punters are prblem gamblers. Next step is to get a blocking software for your phone/laptop. Gamblock is excellent. There is a bank card called Monzo that doesn't allow gambling transactions, you need a smartphone though, I haven't. The problem gambling clinic in London could help you. They helped me and I haven't gambled since December. You can beat this but you MUST accept that there is no place in your life for gambling anymore. I know that is a huge thing to recognise but you and i can't gamble sensibly. The only solution is to stop and put all your energy into having a good relationship. That'll make you far happier.
All the best my friend.
Stu
I can relate to the boredom mate but you must try and plan each day, this will take a huge effort and effectively changing most of your lifestyle, I had £425 in my pocket from a deal I made £140 on today and it was in there most of the day, I made sure when I went home I went to my bank and paid it in, I will pay the profit off my debt, it’s the only way it will come down. You have to be 100% committed and put all the blocks in place.im handing over my finances in a couple of months, I simply can’t do it at the moment but I’m making that commitment to myself, I’ve used Gamcon to self exclude to everything online, so now it’s avoiding bookies my biggest test.Good luck , keep the cash off you and be determined.
