Checking in 7 days gf. My first little milestone, it's been a week of being gf and it feels great already!!!! Few temptations along the way but I have resisted, I know it won't be easy and I have a long way to go yet, but it's a start.
Hello Collip and welcome to the forum. That first week is a challenging time so congratulations on getting through that.
You may like to have your own diary to monitor your progress. If so go to the forum page, scroll down and choose "Recovery Diaries" and than press "New Topic."
I sincerely hope you can break free from this terrible addiction. It is very difficult but many people do manage to go long periods without gambling.
Hello Mixer and everyone,
It has been a long long time since i have posted. I kind of drifted away from the site a while ago as I was going through an awful lot at the time and I just wanted to deal with everything in my own little way. So the good news is I am 311 days gamble free this is the first time I have actually checked how many days it has been in almost 7 months. To all off you that are struggling remember that there is one whole big reason you came to this site and it was for help. The help on this site is amazing and at the start of my despair it was here for me. As every day goes by I always think about the loss the hurt and the bad. Then I look to the good and how better I feel knowing that althougb the demon does not go away it most certainly is kept at bay with blocks and positive thoughts.
Mixer I see you have been away for a while, I hope all is well and yoh are enjoying life. My thanks especially to you for without your kind words posts and encouragement I would never have got through those first steps.
For now remember everyday is a test to pass you just have to be true to yourself, you are in this for you nobody else its a tough battle but if I can do this so can you.
Checking in 301 days gamble free 🙂
15 days free
Checking in on day 271 , glad to say still gamblr free.
I am checking in for the week. Surpassed 100 days now, I hardly feel anything towards gambling anymore. The odd time it creeps up "what if?", my voices telling that I have control now and could "just bet a fiver". No sir, no gambling for you today.
Marson I love the way you forgot to count for a while. 🙂 congrats on over 300 and congrats to all triple digets and single digets too... 1 day on up to what ever amount of days. One day at a time. Making the best choice in the moment. Today is my 90! amen tara2
Way to go Tara hope you are very proud of this achievement, I'm right here with you on 90 days 🙂
I have been quiet recently as had lots of stuff to deal with in life so not been posting much, but I am always lurking and following my forum friends, still reading and learning every day, being quietly so proud of you all, from people who are on their first day to those of you who are in triple/quadruple figures, you are all a true inspiration to me in many ways.
I don't always count my days of being gamble free but every now and then I have a peep and it feels good. Still can't believe what place I was in before the day I decided to stop gambling, I know 90 days may be a small amount in some peoples eyes but I think just 1 day is a massive achievement for anyone with this addiction, so to me 90 days is something to be proud of but I have many years of destruction, heartache and pain to make up for so I will be fighting and striving to never have it back in my life every single day.
Love to everyone here including Mixer who started this thread (hope you're ok), everyone who has been there for me when I have struggled, slipped up or been in a really dark place, you have all helped me so much to be strong on this journey and I will never be able to thank any of you enough. Sending everyone love, best wishes and strength in this battle today and always.
Angel x
Wishing all Guru Challengers a wild and wonderful gamble free weekend or maybe just chill out and watch the world go by.
I was tickled pink this morning reading the last weeks posts:
Guru Sars 463 days GF...Guru Marson 315 ...Guru Slot Fool 304
Chartom 273 ....Godoicul 260
Mitch 143 .... Bigmug 101 ... Egdam 100+
Tara 92 ... Xangel 91... Donna 87
Lost 17 ... Collip 10
Bluescreen seems to be doing well and I am doing ok myself although I am wary of having a day count due to several relapses in the past. However I will certainly know when I have reached Guru Status of 300 days gamble free and I will sing it from the rooftops.
Congratulations to all who are staying gamble free. We all know perfectly well how difficult this journey can be. It requires all the courage we have plus a lot of common sense, understanding and resilience.
My heart really goes out to those of us who are struggling at the moment. Sometimes the road ahead can look really scary and we may feel sad, lonely and ill equipped for the challenges that lie ahead. Remember that tomorrow is another day and things might not seem so bad than. Many of us who may have low self esteem are in fact really good people with a lot of potential. We may search high and low for what we haven't got whilst we overlook all the good things we have got. We are all children of the universe, precious and unique.
