Hey guys
I'm a previous member, been through this recovery process a good few times but now i've gotta try & ask myself whats different?
This year i went through a break up with my ex mrs & theres a 4 year old child involved & co-parenting our daughter hasn't been easy at times since our split.
Done a relapse to the tune of £700 whilst drinking last weekend.
Rang gamcare up last sunday morning & they got me to put gamban on my phone (which works) i'm gamstopped this was a european site i went on, i wasn't in control of my actions.
I also went back to GA last week as well, it was good to get back to the group, i'm slowly getting there.
The positive feelings have come back & i'm just taking it one day at a time.
Rob.
Hi RobÂ
Sorry to hear about the relapse . It seems many of us here go through a relapse at some point I do think that life events can trigger this such as break ups . You’ve done the right thing with Gamban ?
I’ve blocked sites and gambling transfer through bank and it’s helped massively !
Of course we do & how i've gotta look at it as much as 'its bad' (which it was) it could have been worse still &Â believe me im still battling with the thoughts but i must wake up each day & pledge not to gamble, keep talking about it etc. Keep posting on here & keep going to the meetings.
Thanks for the reply mate.

@rob_evans88 Hi Rob, you said you went back to GA, why did you stop going and how long did you go for?
Chris.
Hi mate
I went to GA nearly 10 years ago for a few years, I didn't give it all a serious go as i should have done. The thing i don't need is another relapse setting me back even further. I'm still slightly reeling from the last 1.
If gambling is a problem it is indeed a problem. I'm not one of those people who can just be happy with a budget of £5.
That's why its prevention first off, being mindful and talking about it is the clear winner here.
same for me, on gamstop but went to over seas sites. Good games, but a hell of a long drawn out process to withdraw, so I never banked or if I did I played it again. Now installed gamblock on devices and it`s great...however, got a new phone so had to erase all apps of old one, big mistake, first mnths wages off a new job, and it was a great wage...so I blew 800 within a cpl of hrs, now back pedalling to make payments or not !
I hit 1 month gamble free last week 😀 😀 😀 .

First of many but more importantly 1 day at a time.
Â
Not doing too bad in life at the moment, still finding somewhere to live after my relationship breakup 6 months ago, still saving, paying down my debts, working & studying my IT course.
Â
Life isn't bad & a far cry from the mess that I was 1 month ago.

Hey guys.Â
Got to 3 months gamble free recently. Not saying it’s all been plain sailing because it hasn’t, urges here & there but fortunately I haven’t acted on them. I can see the trust is returning with my loved ones & that needs to be maintained. Trust can be broken in not even a matter of seconds, transparency is key.Â
Life’s not going too bad at the min, I’ve not seen so much savings in some time, going GA every week getting plenty out of it each & every time I’m going. Still taking all 1 day at a time.Â
On the child situation it’s still to be resolved I’ve still not seen my daughter for 3 & half months at present unfortunately. Still pushing for change with that 1. And the housing situation is still unresolved atm.Â
