Two years ago my wifes friend came to stay at our house with her boyfriend, he knew nothing about my history but told me that his job was designing games for a gambling firm. I let him continue without stopping him. The effort they put into making us play machines is incredible. Banks of people who understand every instinct we possess, making games to turn us into addicts. Plus teams of mathematicians ensuring that we never beat the odds. There are no special tricks we can use to win, the sequences set are so random as never to be remembered, despite what urban mythology may tell us. But the harder the times are, the more they encourage us to waste what little money we have. They are monsters destroying families for profit. Never will I give them a single penny again. Don't know why I'm sharing this, just felt like it.
Gambling shop bribe people with free food it's so manipulative.

Hi Faith,
Â
Great post, 2 years ago I read the highest paid female CEO in the UK is boss of ( they'll edit it if I mention the company ) Ray Winston's pay master. Did she make that kind of money by giving gamblers more than a 1% chance of winning ?, I doubt it.Â
Sincere Best Wishes

It is a good post. This is something we all know deep down is the truth but so many of us wants to look away as the gambling is a part of so much more than just the machines and the sounds. It is our willingness to go into the zone so we can forget our present. It is the need to surpress the emotion that feels bad or the stress or the lack of human connection. It is many things and they know that. They have known for quite some time. They say that you have choice but if you do not know how to use that choice because you are stuck, then that choice is worthless, and they know that to. I would suggest that you listen to David Goggins book about how he managed to learn things by repeating it again and again and again till he finally got it. That explanation describes an addicts way of dealing with gambling to a tea. It is by repeating what we learn and the more we repeat the harder it sticks. If you use that above line to get out of gambling you will start to see change. It will not happen fast you have to work at it. You will fall but keep on doing it again and again and things will change until they are different and you learn to do other things.
Good post once again. I hope people register what you wrote.

Thank you for posting. This is helpful to me. "Never will I give them a single penny again" is a good mantra.Â
