This thread is for anyone who is struggling to get into recovery OR like me is struggling to return to recovery.
As the title suggests... NO gambling in April.
Treat this thread like a life belt... nothing more. When everything else is going to s**t just grab hold of it.
Say anything, say nothing.
P.s You know this Im not a robot thing... When is a mountain a hill? Do you include the poles holding up the street signs? Sometimes i think I am actually a robot.. a slot robot unfortunately
i'm all aboard this boat. I broke my no gambling pledge for 2017 but i'm determined not to be sunk by it. April will be a struggle for me but I have belief I can make it. This website has always had a big part to play in my recovery. Thanks for the thread.
I will give it a try. Have been gambling for 7-8yrs now, had enough. i know it wont be easy but im determne to stop gambling n get my life back.
Would like to join here for april, new to the site as of today unfortunately not new to gambling as I gambled yesterday and for too many years to count. I am determined make this change in my life and appreciate the thread and everyone's support.
I did it in March so let's do it in April :)!
I'd like to join, been doing ok of late but April has a big trigger for me - the masters and having another thread to post on and check-in with should be the extra motivation to get me through and keep me on the right path.
Cheers S.A
I just gambled away £250 from yesterday and I found myself here for the first time. I went to the ATM to withdraw the rest of my cash and keep it at home such that I won't get tempted to bet online with debit cards. I hope I will be able to stay away until May without getting tempted to return the money into the account. I feel horrible after losing all that in two days.
Welcome aboard everyone... hold on tight!
Betting online is just the worst. I go to work for a 7.5 hour shift earn just £50 after taxes, get home go online and blow £200's ina few minutes... whats the point in working?... its sad and its scary. My debts are scary.
For good or bad I decided to email my bank. Asked them to block transactions to gambling sites and reduce my daily cash withdrawal limit (yes i also have problems with the bookies), lets see if they respond positively. Unfortunately blocking software hasn't worked for me because it blocks 95% of gambling sites but not all of them.
No gambling today
Thanks for listening
S.A can you please advise me which software is that you used to block gambling sites? Today managed to stay away from online slots because my debit cards have no money and I don't have any credit card. I hope for the better tomorrow.
Sorry I don't have info on that software you mentioned, just checking in for tonight second day not gambling for me, one of the toughest as the NCAA Final Four Championship game is tonight, a game Ive bet every year since I can remember (I'm in the states but find this forum extremely helpful). Looking to attend my first Gambler's Anonymous meeting in 15 years tomorrow. Thanks for the support.
betfilter.com or gamblock.com
ive already messed up... starting over once more
no gambling since last post... this thread continues
Thank you S.A , I will try those app to block gambling websites. Sorry to hear about the mess, don't worry you can start over again as it isn't easy like we think. I haven't gambled since my first post this is the 4th day. Yesterday when I came home from work I found a free spin voucher from Dotty bingo in my mail box, I put it the bin outside the house straightaway. I haven't logged in to any site either.
Keep it going SA. You don't need me telling you it ain't worth it. Keep it going one day at a time.
Affected by gambling?
