I think the best way of dealing with payday lies in preparing for it days in advance.
1) Knowing when you will be paid
2) How you will be paid
3) How much you will get
4) And most importantly of all What you spending priorities are and how you are going to ensure these are met without deviation
It may sound like this methodology sucks the fun out of getting paid but believe me its better than being care free. So many times in the run up to payday i thought about using all the money to pay debts but then i thought 'Naaaaah' ill be fine, i wont be reckless this month. And then i was. And i had to spend the next 29 days with no money, or a shortage of it wishing to hell id just been more disciplined.
Most C.G.s are most vulnerable when they've got the most money and i bleieve that accepting this fact is the foundation of dealing with getting paid positively. Do not decieve yourselves with regards to your abilities to take care of your cash! As a gambler, you have already demonstrated that you cannot do this! You'll be able to someday, but its a gradual change that can't be brought about in the blink of an eye.
with my previous times of quitting i took several strategy's,
I tried transferring my wages to another bank the second it went in so i could get my mum to take it out from there n feed me it.
I tried taking every penny out the day it was paid in.
I tried giving my mum my cards and letting her pay my bills out of it.
I have tried clearing my bills the second i got paid.
One thing I always do is to buy a Sainsburys Giftcard for my month's food. That way if I gambled at least I'd have something to eat.
