What is that?
I already have an IVA in place.
They have surprisingly been okay with this debt, just have to send them monthly proof of my 50 monthly payment.
Such a mess but I now see light at the end of the tunnel.
Hopefully in 5 years time I will be debt free and never ever fall into this horrible trap again.

Stay strong little l

Keyword Paypal threw up a load of threads with the same issues.  I don't need to ask the question if it's still happening as sadly last night I burned through money that I didn't have in my bank account or paypal account at a ridiculous rate and could've gone a lot further.

I know for me it's the gambling that I need to address but I would like there to be restrictions in place for future me and others to stop being able to use £0 account Paypal balances to accept numerous large transactions over a short period of time to gambling companies.

Is there anything being done that I can lend my voice to?  Is it a case of writing to MP/MSPs?

Currently in that next day mixture of rage and self loathing.

I haven’t had calls from PayPal as yet I have emailed them but no response. I feel I am weighed down by this I have 12k owing to PayPal and over 50k of unsecured debt is going bankrupt a realistic option or a cowards way out?

I am in a very similar situation to you and currently have a negative balance of over £13k to PayPal because of gambling 🙁  I would really like to know how things panned out for you with them.  I am at my wits end 🙁 I hope you answer and I hope you have managed to keep gamble free.  My debts overall are just under £120k :'(

Similar issue here I used Gamstop ... i blocked my bank card by contacting my bank to not allow payments to that company. Shortly later I found another loophole ... PayPal then decided it was a good idea to offer me payin3 ... I assume they tried to contact me but I’ve become a recluse I don’t use a mobile phone anymore I snoop around the window when I hear the doorbell. I feel this is a issue I tried everything to avoid but when they provide stupid loopholes what do they expect a 28yr old gambling addict with  nothing to show for his whole life, never claimed a day of benefits in my life worked for every penny I’ve wasted. I live at home with my parents don’t even have a driving licence. As we speak i managed to loose another £200 I spent all weekend earning in the matter of 6mins. I truly have a issue and I was on track until I found this ... loophole. I worry I’ll take out my anger on people who come to collect the money when PayPal sell the debt I have nothing to give nor nothing to loose so it’s scary. I’m alive because my mother try’s so hard and I keep all these secrets. I’m sure she knows I still gamble she isn’t stupid but I don’t think she understands the extent of my issue. Just a shame I look forward to the day my mother passes away so I can give up without the guilt. Sorry it’s all over the place I just saw a opportunity to open up and see what people think on my issue and if PayPal should be held accountable for allowing technically a loan...
