Hi,
I'm trying to overcome my addiction which is going out of control.
I self exclude myself from one online casino, only to open another account with another provider. I'm probably self excluded from most of the big ones, but keep finding a new one. How can I self exclude myself from ALL online casinos? Surely this is something that is possible? I want to be free of this disease that's eating away at me. 🙁
I don't think you can BUT keep self-excluding.. for 5 years or life time if they allow it. What I find in practice is that with some sites, when you exclude from them, your automatically excluded from other sites that they operate. Over time it does become harder to find a site that you haven't excluded from. If your determined enuff you will always find a new site.. but it becomes harder and maybe during the search it will give you time to think again. On occasions I have joined a site just so I can then exclude. Keep excluding.
Hello Ad999
I'm not sure there's a way to exclude for all at the same time. I'd suggest thinking about what you're going to do once you've self excluded online. Attending counselling, online blocks and GA meetings are all helpful.
All the best
Hi ad999,
You can self exclude from Land based casinos via the 'Sense' scheme (google it) but there is no way to exclude from all online casinos in one go.
My advice would be to either download some blocking software on your computer and give the password to a friend/family member.
I'm exactly the same mate I've excluded from so many sites but if I keep looking I can guarantee I will find one, I even have gamblock on my phone but I've even found a way around that.
Best advice I had about gam block and K9 (the free one) use a barcode from something for the password then burn the barcode! Iv done it and its worked so far...6 days GF also all online...casinos scare me!
There is no barcode for gamblock they make you use their own browser that blocks gambling but I've found ways round it, I've had gamblock for years and I've always found ways around their software, I'm currently in contact with them and it looks like the only option is for them to block the app store.
you could try betfilter instead.
I do think that there is value to carry on "self-excluding" from online sites.
If you find yourself sitting there having opened a new account and about to gamble... just self-exclude instead... just do it ! Its quite empowering, maybe not in the moment when the urge is strong, but in a few hours when the urge passes.
I'm the same with these online betting companies. My problem is sports betting online and I'm fed up cause every week a new one appears. I just wish there was a multi self excluding line for online and shop
Hello ad999
Here is some information that may find helpul in deciding what you might like to try next to support your recovery.
A new national online self-exclusion scheme (GAMSTOP) is currently in development - you can find out more on the Remote Gambling Association (RGA) website
