Hi

Self loathing and guilt,

That is living in the pains of your past.

If you can put more effort in to your recovery.

If you can exchange your unhealthy habits in to healthy habits you will become amuch healthier person.

Love healing and peace to you.

Hello Anxious58

Well done for your 36 days! You're doing so well despite the feelings of self loathing and guilt.

Having dark thoughts sounds so upsetting for you but you're not on your own with this. Please keep posting on our forums and call us on the Helpline on 0808 8020 133 or chat to us through our 1:1 Livechat any time.

Although it all feels really hard at the moment, I hope you're able to find some self compassion and acceptance to help ease the guilt.

Wishing you well,

Ellen,

I know it's hard to deal with the self loathing and guilt, but you are not alone. There are many people who have been through what you are going through and they have overcome it. You can too.

It does get easier with time, but you have to be patient and compassionate with yourself. You have to forgive yourself for your past mistakes and focus on your present and future. You have to remember that you are a valuable and worthy person, no matter what. You have to talk to someone you trust, like a therapist, a friend, or a support group, and share your feelings and thoughts.

I too have experienced it on this journey. I'm 9 months in and this is the longest I've gone without a play but any length of time without a gamble is an achievement on the road to recovery.

Maybe look into talking to Gamcare on the live chat or call as the forum admin suggested.

It may feel like a long road - but I never thought I'd be where I am now this far into recovery!
