Hello everyone.

I always think it's a good idea to have a new hobby so I'm always looking for something new. But that didn't stop me from going back to gambling. Just wondering if there is anyone else like me? And any advice?

Thanks for your help

Before you can find a hobby to replace your addiction. You should identify triggers. What triggers you to gamble?is it loneliness?do you look for an outlet when you fail at something?how often do you spend time alone?how exposed are you to gambling sites or physical locations? All of these questions need to be answered.

Hi

The wording recovery means to me healing.

If I am nto able to admit to my self I am in pain how can I heal my self.

For me the people in the recovery program help me reduce my fears.

For me the people in the recovery program help me understand what my last emotional triggers were.

For me the people in the recovery program help me understand how important therapies were to my recovery.

My therapies were going to help me articulate what my feelinsg adn emotions were.

My therapies were going to help me reduce and face my fears.

My therapies were going to help me understand how emotionally vulnerable I was.

I would also understand that recovery was going to help me exchange unhealthy habits in to  healthy habits.

For me the people in the recovery program would ehlp me understand how important writing down my lists were.

For me a new hobby should be a healthy thing.

Yet it should not become another obsessions where balance in my life is adversely affected.

I took up ancestry in being in recovery.

In the last few weeks I have reached over a 1,000,000 people on my ancestry tree.

I tend to do it when I am unable to get to sleep or not able to get things done on my needs wants or goals daily listings.

I am now 76 years of age, and recently damaged my shoulder by trying to get to much done to quickly.

In the next coupe of weeks will get my a*s in to gear shlowly.

Each time I went back to gambling enable me to learn what my last emotional triggers were.

Thanks for your sharing.
