HI there my first post on here I have been gambling for a few years probably 3. I am 46 with depression and fibromyalgia I have a good job lovely family but I still do it. Every morning I wake up and think right today is the day I stop, as soon as I get home from work that's it I pick up my phone and tap in Foxy bingo, I don't play bingo, I play the slots I have won a considerable amount over the years but then I have probably deposited 3 times as much. I must admit I haven't been on it today as I am trying so hard but I feel like a bottle of pop that has been shook up my head is ready to explode I need that fix. My family have bailed me out a couple of times as I have had issues with the bank. I told them that that was it my debt were cleared but 2 weeks ago I came into 15,000 inheritance and to date I have spent 3,000 I can't afford to spend anymore I have other things to pay off and I would like nice things for the house and me but I am ADDICTED AND NEED HELP XX

Hello Cooper

Welcome to the forum.

Well done on recognising the problem with your gambling and for seeking advice.

There are strategies that you can use to help you over come your gambling problems some of which are self-exclusion from online accounts and also installing blocking software to block access to online gambling sites. Some people also think about arranging their finances in ways that slow down how quickly they can access their money, or limiting their ability to spend online. Please continue to post on the forum for advice and support there is a very supportive community who use this site.

Please feel welcome to talk things through with a GamCare adviser on 0808 8020 133 or on our netline. The advisers can provide emotional support and helpful information, as well as facilitate referrals to one to one counselling appointments if you’d like to access that service too.

Best wishes

Rachel.
