Hi Leosmummy.
You make an important point there in your titel Unemployed with a gambling problem. I know what its like to be unemployed and I know how that plays right into a gambling problem. In a sense I gave up on life and thought I could increase my dole with a gamble. We are the last people that should be gambling because I couldnt afford to lose a pound really
I also know that the games the dwp play stresses the mind further. I was down because I didnt see where the work was coming from. I got one taxi job ages ago and it was literally paying me £2 an hour. I gave it up sharpish. I have just been quoted training from 27000 for uni to 5000 for a plumbing course which is disheartening. Many of the trade courses arent worth the money with no guarantee of work at the end of it
Anyway what I need to say is gambling is never the answer to money worries or making you feel better. You can make a fresh start and there is hope.
Joining the forum is a great move. You need to self exclude with pride and put the blocks in place. Your willpower alone will not do it. You need to talk to people close and reach out for help.
I know its not a lot of money but you can manage it better with a healthy state of mind. Ive had enough stuff in life and it didnt really make me happy. I know that sounds twee but you are not going to gamble your way to fortune and happiness.
The gambling companies want your money. They know that depression and stress cause people to seek escape with their machines. They programme those machines to give an escape trance so we gamble to extinction.
Its a tax on the poor just like the lottery or scratchcards
You can beat it with focus and help. A visit to the doctor is a good idea. Calling gamcare is a great idea.
Keep reading the forum and posting your thoughts
Best wishes
