Just a charming little Christmas story for everybody...

I received a Fed Ex parcel late yesterday afternoon, which was strange because I haven't ordered anything online lately. It was a bit of an odd shape and before I opened it I could already feel that it was extremely cold. So I ripped it open and Inside was a large box of 'Fillet Royale finest oak smoked Scottish Salmon' and accompanying it a card which read:

'Merry Christmas and a Happy New year from Chris and Russ, Sporting Bet'.

Ah, what nice guys. They have worked so hard to suck me dry this year and they are still thinking of me now. Of course they don't know I am 50 days gamble free, they are obviously just worried I have taken my custom elsewhere. Bloody Parasites!!

What a strange incentive to try and lure me back though?! It must go along with the whole nonsense glamour gambling image, try and make you feel like a high-roller by sending you a semi-luxurious food item! Muppets. The big joke is I can't stomach Smoked Salmon at all and for this particular batch I have paid them nearly £25k this year!! : (

I haven't binned it yet, no I think I am actually going to give it to my Psychologist at the National Problem Gambling Clinic when I see him on monday (and tell him the story of course). If he can't accept it, then I'll just hand it over to some homeless person around Soho on the way home.

I know what you mean Nat. I added to my credit file that I am a compulsive gambler and still I've managed to get 2 payday loans that I can't pay back. Now I keep getting texts from other payday firms asking me if I want money.

Scottish smoked salmon? Mmmmm. Send it to me please! (Just kidding)

I've never heard of this before, they'll try anything to get your custom. Parasites.

Stay strong.

Wow Natman,

That is truly disgusting, how sneaky and low gambling companies will stoop. Especially at this time of year when they know we all feel at our weakest and most tempted. I'd actually give it to a tramp in Soho on the condition that when it's worked its way through his digestive tract he does his business into a Fed Ex envelope for you so it can be posted back Return to Sender. I'd also recommend rolling the t**d in glitter first for that true spirit of Christmas sparkle 😉

Regarding the PayDay Loans, I actually did the same thing then foolishly took out another one. For what it's worth, the companies which gave you the loan are in breach of new OFT and FSA regulations on responsible lending. You might not have to pay either loans back. I can recommend the website CAG www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk - free, impartial, Consumer forum. Take a look at similar success stories of people challenging irresponsible loans.

Best,

Molehole x

That's shocking. Congrats on the 50 days free though - I'd be inclined to store the salmon somewhere for another 50 days and then send it back to them as a celebration of hitting 100 days
